Master of Perspective
Why is adding depth to your drawings so difficult?

Several years ago I had a student in Perspective 1 who said to me, "I'm terrible! I can't do perspective, and I'll never be able to!" I said, "You're not terrible , you're just inexperienced." So we got to work, and by the end of Perspective 2 he was getting High Pass level marks. Now, when I meet him I greet him this way: "Hi, Perspective Master!", and he says, "Hi, Master of Perspective!"
Are Artists Born or Made?
One of the things I hear time and time again is people saying “Wow, your student artwork is really amazing. I wish I had that talent, but I could never draw like that.” Now, think about this - If someone was amazing at piano, would you assume it’s just a natural gift, they just started playing one day and could hit every note perfectly? If someone was an incredible athlete running marathons, would you assume they were just born with the ability to perform in that capacity? Most people have the understanding that musicians train hard, athletes practice almost daily, and when someone is a master of their craft, they have spent a long time to get there.
Yet somehow, when art is the subject of consideration, it’s often simplified to a matter of ‘talent’ - many people believe you either have it, or you don’t.
This couldn’t be father from the truth - The people who have the biggest success at our school, in all of our programs, are not the ones who came here with a natural ability to draw. We do not care how good you are right now at drawing. The students who succeed are the ones who are willing to put in the work. If you can find the right teachers, and are willing to listen to their instructions on technique, do the exercises, and accept criticism, then you can succeed as an artist.
Yes, perspective is an extremely difficult subject to grasp - Adding depth to your drawings without making things look wonky can be extremely challenging. That’s why we have the best teacher for the job, here to guide you through every hurdle you face. When you come out of this workshop - you will look back at your old work and think - wow, it’s amazing how much I have improved, and what I am capable of now.
So, if you’re ready to take that leap, to dynamically improve your drawing abilities, our instructors are ready to guide you to that next level.

💬 What Our Students Have to Say
“When choosing [MTM College], I was looking for a school that had an in depth art program, allowing me to build the artistic foundations right from the grass roots level to the advanced techniques that are currently being used in the industry by many artists. Most importantly, I wanted to be part of an institution that adhered to the discipline of "hands on" academic learning. My decision was strongly affected by the portfolios the students were able to produce and also the rich experience of the instructors. Their passion and dedication to teaching is of the highest standard and a great motivator for the student. The community is small but focused giving both the instructors and students the opportunity to address any concerns on a one-to-one basis. I am currently enrolled in the first year of the sequential arts program and it has been a great experience so far. My foundations have improved tremendously and I cannot wait to elevate that experience in the coming years.”
“I can honestly say that [MTM College] is where I have felt the most comfortable, being myself. My past two years have been some of the most wonderful years I have ever spent in a school. The students are amazing and highly skilled, with different styles, all unique to them. The teachers, even more so. I feel so honor to be learning from the amazing staff here. I won't lie, it's a tough curriculum. You must be focused and willing to take criticism, otherwise you will never grow as an artist. I have seen such a vast improvement in my artwork since my first year, it sometimes overwhelms me. I know that with hard work and dedication, my skills will continue to grow. My hopes for the future are to one day be on a skill level matching those of my teachers and work along aside these amazing people who I call artists and friends.”
“The school is very focused on giving you strong classical drawing skills. The class sizes are small, the teachers are passionate and the workload is intense. A school like [MTM College] will give you the foundation you need. I recommend [MTM College] to anyone is serious about pursuing a career in Animation, Illustration, Sequential Arts and Concept Art.”
